Money for Wedding Gifts? Shafonne Myers
Ok, so I feel like I have deserted everyone but I am still here, just busy planning weddings. I heard this segment on Q94 and was so baffled by the topic that I had to write on it. So, apparently the newest trend in Weddings is asking for money for gifts. In the segment they talk about how couples in Israel can rent a credit card machine for $155.00. The machine is available for guests to swipe their debit or credit cards and have funds go into an account for the bride and groom. They recieve a deposit slip that they can insert into provided envelopes and give as a gift. OH MY GOODNESS. I just can’t believe it. Listen to the segment and comment on what you think.
Happy Planning

Comments In the middle east (and maybe other non-western cultures) it is just common to give money for wedding presents. I lived in Turkey and fat envelopes of cash were common. Also common is gold jewelry (especially bracelets) because gold holds its value or even increases in value compared to local currencies. posted by modernatelier |
