21st annual Upper Mattaponi Tribal Pow Wow, Upper Mattaponi Tribal Grounds in King William County, May 23-25. American Indian dancing, storytelling, and arts and crafts. May 23 is children’s day, activities will be 0 a.m. to 1 p.m. Grand entry of tribal chiefs and dancers will be noon on Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Chalk Fest, Gloucester, May 31, 11 a.m. (registration starts at 10 a.m.) Join featured artist Ann Hefferman at this outdoor street-drawing festival. Children and adults receive a box of pastels and a section of pavement to create their masterpieces. This year’s theme is “Water.” Live music featuring singer/songwriters.
