Shabby Apple Hosts ‘Couture for a Cause’ Fashion Show Event Submitted by Natalie Oddenino Shabby Apple, a Richmond-based online dress company, will partner with Community Chest Promotions and Rumors Boutique, to sponsor a charitable fashion show and musical performance from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21 at Plaza Bowl, 521 E. South Side Plaza, Richmond, VA 23224. All donations will benefit Shabby Apple’s charitable partner, Unitus a non-profit organization that offers microcredit loans to women in developing countries. “We’re thrilled about the opportunity to host an event that benefits those in need,” owner of Shabby Apple, Emily McCormick said. “One of our main mission statements when we launched Shabby Apple was to help women worldwide. This fashion show is the perfect way to bring people together in a community for a good cause.” The doors for the event open at 8:00 p.m. for a cocktail hour and the fashion show starts at 9:00 p.m. Local rockabilly singer and entertainer, Wrenn Mangum will be performing at 10:00 p.m. Appetizers will be provided by Champagne Taste Catering. Other partners for the event include hair and make-up provided by 422 Studio and Rhonda Rupp from Look Salon, accessories by local jeweler Julia Dent, and a live DJ will be accompanying the fashion show. The fashion show will feature 30 Shabby Apple dresses and 8 male looks styled by Rumors Boutique. Dresses will be available to try on and purchase at the event.
