SpyingOnSuburbia: Sookie True Love

Elizabeth James

Sookie Stackhouse

Look, I was an English Lit major which is actually embarrassing to the University I attended when you realize that I can’t spell or write anything grammatically correct. I say this because I do love great books. I like well written books and a good story and beautiful poetry that leaves you feeling like-no way. I am not some stupid snobby bitch or guy who sits around with patches on my corduroy sports coat (although it would look cool if it was fitted, green and worn with my R&R jeans and Luchesse boots) but the point is I don’t have a pipe…

Moving right along…I say this too because I just went on and on about the Twilight series. (See previous Twilight entries) but the point was it was all about our first experiences and it was so innocent and erotic and just wild, emotionally speaking. I was left with a vacancy when those books ended. I mean I am married and my husband is totally hot. He is…I am lucky but we have three kids and one doesn’t sleep and they all sleep in our bed and so lets just say not much sex is happening right now. (We really need an outdoor shower (see summer post) )

Ok, so Twilight-It was like a bad break up when it was finished. The kind where you close your eyes and keep re-living all those special moments only to awake and realize it’s over.

This is so freakin nutty…anyway, I moved on from that series and I spent time working on my own book and then, because I am obsessed with reading, I had to find something else. But I wanted to find something that fed this aching heart or ya know… I have never read romance novels. They are formula and all and that is cool if you are into them or you write them. I am not knocking you. It just isn’t what I read or write.

So the aching um, heart thing…Well, I saw True Blood on HBO one weekend. I watched the series On Demand. It is good. I heard there were books and I bought the series and I have had them for some time. So, let’s see, I started last week and I am on book seven. Think of Twilight as Good Night Moon and the Charlaine Harris series about Sookie Stackhouse as hmmm Debbie Does Dallas. It is wrongishly right. Sookie is Angelina Jolie and Bella is Dakota Fanning.

I am in the phase of I just have to see who Sookie ends up with. The books are kind of formulary, a good quick read (PERFECT for the beach) the sex completely crazy and I pretty much texted my husband, who was downstairs, for a midnight meet up which got rescheduled to this weekend since I wanted to finish the book and he was doing the second feeding for Big Lou. …married life ya know. So, what am I saying…get ‘em. If you cannot afford a vacation this summer well, you can thank me later…this may be even better.

Enjoy- E
