and a beautiful Brie En Croute!
BRIE EN CROUTE
INGREDIENTS
• 1/2 package(s) puff pastry sheets, thawed
• 1 round brie cheese, 8 oz.
• 1/4 cup(s) light brown sugar
• 1/4 cup(s) walnuts, toasted
• 1 medium egg(s), beaten lightly
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Lightly flour cutting board. Unfold pastry sheet. Cut brie in half crosswise. Place one half of brie in center of pastry (cut side up).
3. Pack sugar on top of brie. Sprinkle with walnuts. Place other half of brie on top of walnuts (cut side down).
4. Trim the pastry so that there is a 2 inch border around the brie.
5. Mix egg with 1 T water. Brush edges of pastry with egg wash. Fold pastry around brie and place brie on baking sheet, seam side down.
6. Bake for 20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
Note: To make this more festive, serve with some red jam around the brie.
