Top 10 Tips For a MESSLESS Home

People ask us all of the time, “Where do I start to organize my space?”  We are going to share with you some simple tools to simplify and declutter your space.  We have provided thousands of hands-on hours helping our clients create functional living spaces conducive to their lifestyle.  There are a few tips that remain true and consistent in most households to create and maintain a calming, well-organized space.  Here they are…..........

*    Immediately through away trash.

*    Declutter one room at a time.  Place a basket at the door for items that belong in other rooms.  Don’t run from
    room to room.  This may distract you and cause you to lose focus.

*    For each ONE item you bring into your home, take TWO items out.

*    Before buying an item, ASK Yourself
        DO I LOVE IT?
        WILL I USE IT?
        WHERE WILL I PUT IT?
        CAN I AFFORD IT?

*  Dedicate 15 minutes a day to put things in their place.  Enlist family members to help.

*  Toss/Donate things that are BROKEN, are DUPLICATES, haven’t been used 3 years.

*  Set limits on collections.  They have a tendency to grow rapidly and take over.

*  Handle mail daily.  Paper should fit into 4 categories.  TOSS, FORWARD, FILE, ACT ON.
