I am Shafonne Myers, Lead Wedding Consultant, CEO of Making Your Event Special, LLC, a Wedding and Event Consulting Firm and host to Making Your Event Special LIVE, Va’s 1st Wedding and Event Planning Radio Talk Show.  And also to add into the mix, a Wedding Planning instructor at University of Richmond, through The Wedding Planning Institute.

I am going to let you into the fabulous world of a wedding planner; the ups and downs, the frustrations and the trimphs of this GLORIOUS industry.  You will get to step into my life.  Like most wedding planners, I do have a family so I will also let you into how everything I do revolves around them.  I have a wonderful husband, Jimmy, a great daughter, Saniya Alexis and two wonderful dogs, Prince and Princess.

I really want everyone to know that it is not just about Wedding and Events that we, wedding consultants deal with, but about how everything flows together: work, family and just plain-old LIFE. 

How I do what I do and stay sane doing it, trust me easier said than done. 

I will try to do a post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Some will be longer than others and some just little snippets into what is going on at that moment. Along the way I will try to give some valuable tips and suggestions that I hope will prove to be useful.

I hope that everyone gets a sense of what we do and can get some great ideas for themselves.
