Do you try and tune in?

Are you Psychic?

Katy Gorman

Are you psychic?  Is anybody?  Could it be possible that everyone is psychic?  We all know someone who is your run of the mill ‘Monday morning psychic.’  The after the fact psychic.  You know the type.  Something happens.  The after the fact psychic says ‘I knew that was going to happen!’  Or, someone says something, and the monday morning, after the fact psychic says, ‘I knew she was going to say that!’

The idea is fascinating really.  This ability to ‘tune in.’ Maybe it’s true that everyone is, or certainly could be, psychic. If you think about it, why not?  I don’t mean the voodoo, take your money, burn the incense, palm reading kind of psychic.  I’m talking about the ordinary, everyday, tuned in kind of being.  If there really is a 6th sense, then is it something that can be developed, like taste, or smell?  Do we possess the ability to actually focus on something we can’t see, or hear, and then to understand, or interpret, the signals, or messages, when they come?

We’ve all experienced déjà vu.  That strange, eerily familiar sense of ‘hey - I been here before’ feeling.  I know good and well I’ve done this, seen this, heard or smelled this very thing, place, sound, etc… What is that - is it psychic imprint, some kind of psychic memory?  Why is it that things can things feel familiar, in places we know we’ve never been?  It’s all inside the realm of possibility I suppose, if you let yourself believe, which sometimes I do - if my brain feels relaxed enough, and I can enjoy the ease of letting things float through my head.  This is when the connecting can happen I think, when the mind is at rest.  When for no reason at all, an old friend pops through your mind, someone you haven’t seen, or maybe even thought of in years,  and then a day or two later, calls you on the phone.  To which you then exclaim - ‘Hey! - I was just thinking about you!’  Is that some kind of psychic overlap?  Could it be?

Consider the possiblity that you’re more tuned in than you realize.  We seem to be most ‘in synch’ with folks who are connected with our daily living.  There is small, but constant evidence of this.  You might think, ‘I need to call my husband’, and suddenly the phone rings, and it’s him.  Or maybe, out of the blue, your second grader enters your mind, and a few minutes later, it’s the school nurse calling, reporting a fever.  Is it possible that you actually ‘received’ the message, even before the phone rang?  Maybe it’s something we don’t credit ourselves with, this so called psychic ability.  Maybe we think we can’t be psychic because we’re not traveling gypsies, or tarrot card readers, could that be it?  Perhaps that’s just the stuff of movies though, that whole tired psychic cliché.  Maybe the real story is that we’re more in tune than we think, or let ourselves believe.
