Stroller Strides understands that being a mom can pretty much dominate your time and your energy.  However, in recognition of National Women’s Health and Fitness Day on September 24, Stroller Strides of South Richmond is stressing the importance for moms to make time for regular physical activity and make smart health choices.  Stroller Strides will offer a FREE one hour total body fitness class, at Rockwood Park at 9:30AM on Wed, September 24, to all moms.  After class, moms will enjoy refreshments, goody bags, giveaways, balloons and bubbles for the children and free fitness assessments for the moms.

“One of the of the things that makes Stroller Strides so special is that it enables women to take control of their health, while allowing them to be a mom at the same time. We want moms to embrace healthy lifestyles by incorporating fitness into their routines,” said Stacy Pawluk, owner of Stroller Strides of Midlothian.

Pawluk says Women’s Health and Fitness Day is a great opportunity for Ricmond area moms to take a step back and evaluate their lifestyles. According to the American Heart Association, one in two women suffer from heart disease or stroke – both risks can be reduced with regular physical activity.

Stroller Strides is a total fitness program for moms that they can do with their children. It includes power walking and intervals of strength, flexibility and cardio training. Taught by nationally certified instructors, it’s a great workout for any level of exerciser. In 60 minutes, you will get a total body workout improving your cardiovascular endurance, your strength and your flexibility.  The classes are equally beneficial for the children as instructors will weave songs through the workout and incorporate activities to make it fun.

Pawluk offers these tips to help local women get on track:
• Support! Exercising with your baby is a bonding experience but sometimes you need a higher level of support. Take a Stroller Stride class with a friend, neighbor or your partner for added camaraderie.
• Don’t be a Dropout. It’s easy to skip a class and have an excuse to do so, but Pawluk says it is important to keep exercise and fitness as a routine. By treating your classes like any other appointment, fitness and exercise will become a part of your daily lifestyle.
• Nutrition is Critical. Health doesn’t end when the class comes to a close. Stroller Strides’ Web site offers nutritional recipes and encourages women to talk to a nutritionist on how to maintain a healthy diet.

Pawluk says that incorporating fitness, exercise and nutrition into your lifestyle sets a positive example for your children. “With child obesity being a prevalent concern today, implementing healthy habits for you and your children early on in their lives is a way to combat the problem,” Pawluk said.

Stroller Strides classes are held 6 mornings and 2 evenings a week in South Richmond, Chesterfield and Midlothian.  For more information on Stroller Strides of South Richmond, please contact Stacy Pawluk at 800-518-1267 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)http://www.strollerstrides.net/richmond_south

Thank you so much Stacy for sharing this information with the Richmond Ladies.  I am a huge fan of Stroller Strides, as you know.  They help us moms be better mothers, wives, and citizens by supporting ourselves, our families and the community by encouraging others to do the same.

I wanted to let the other moms know that Stroller Strides is national.  Classes are even offered in Quinton, Mechanicsville (http://www.strollerstrides.net/mechanicsville) as well as Richmond, West End, and Glen Allen (http://www.strollerstrides.net/richmond).

As one of the Stroller Strides franchise owners, I join you and Rachel in bringing together a group of moms who are going through the same amazing and exhausting experience of living with a baby.  We encourage all moms and moms-to-be to join a great support system where everything, including fitness, is so much easier.

Thanks again for sharing.

In good stride,
