Spying On Suburbia: Bad Target

Bad Target

Target is a very dangerous place in suburbia.  Very, very dangerous…I found myself today without a single sock to wash, not a single dust ball to sweep.  I have lots of art supplies but after my conversation with my husband last night I just wasn’t feeling too creative…more on that later.  Target, I am not even sure why I went there, yes it was to buy two birthday gifts for some kids parties we have this weekend.  I got the gifts, I got six cards; Halloween ones (even one for my mother in law), birthday cards for my dad in January…let me help you understand something…I never give cards and if I even remembered your birthday the gift for say a January birthday could be received in July.  I just figured people knew I was busy, too busy for that crap.  But today I felt so good looking through these really hilarious cards.  I will be pissed if they don’t LOVE the cards.  Now I understand why my sister who is the ultimate gift giver would be so sad when I would toss her card to the left to quickly get to the gift.  She too probably labored in Target over the perfect card.  After an hour in that isle, I decided the crafts just weren’t enough, I mean the plan is to be a writer…I needed more note books and filing stuff.  So, I hit the school supply area. MISTAKE…three notebooks, four folders and a travel file holder later, I moved on to exit. But then there were these cute little juice glasses only .99 cents I mean I had to have them for the kids in the morning.  I got four.  I also grabbed some random tins and bins to put my new crafts in and then I say this filing cabinet.  Well, I know my husbands been wanting one for a long time so I figure this way he won’t kill me when he sees the bill from yesterday and now this Target fiasco…so I got that too. I didn’t observe anyone else because my eyes were to busy darting around at movies, CDs, books and magazines that I could snatch up in line…bad Target…bad.

I hear ya girl! However, I must admit I have a slight obsession with Hallmark. Target is no safer for me when it comes to impulsive buying. ha ha
