Baby’s First Sickness Mair DowningHad to go get the little one last Thursday because she was running a fever. By the time I got her home, it was over 101. Now she’s four months, so I was a little unnerved. But the receptionist who answered the phone at my pediatrician’s office seemed bored at the thought that I was calling with such a complaint. But she did agree to have the doctor call me back to ease my mind. Good damn thing. When the doctor did call back, she was most concerned given Chloe’s age. Luckily we’re only two minutes away so we got to see the doc that afternoon. (I couldn’t imagine how stressful it would be if I live in the Northern Neck where my brother lives. They are more than an hour from their pediatrician!) She was very good at the office, considering she had to be pricked for blood work and given a shot—THEN she had to repeat the whole process on Friday, as well. Looks like the culprit was her ears caused by a virus. (That’s their best guess anyway.) She seems to be better now, though I really hated to send her to daycare this morning.
